What is Nail Fungus?
Nail fungus can be picked up almost anywhere, but is more common in warm, dark, moist environments. The fungus can enter through a split or damaged nail or under the end of a toenail (hyponychium). At The Foot Care Clinic, I can advise you on the condition, management and numerous products and options for long term treatment.
Fungal nails can be mild, or severe and chronic, and the treatment options depend on whichever you suffer with. Treating fungal nail infection can take many months, perhaps up to a year. Any treatment will require the nail to re-grow until it is clear of infection. There’s no quick fix. Prevention is indeed better than cure in this case.
